When an Email is More Than Just an Email
You never know how an email can impact someone.
A friend and fellow entrepreneur/meeting planner sent me an email a while back asking me how I handle the economic peaks and valleys of owning my own business. As any contractor, salesperson or entrepreneur can attest, a fair amount of anxiety and trepidation can surface when one's livelihood is tied to the seemingly-fickle whims of our buyers. In slow times, it can be nerve-wracking. She wanted my advice, and I emailed her back with what I normally think about: we aren't responsible for the outcome, just our own efforts. Like a farmer who plants seeds, we are planting future business. Keep planting and trust the process.
Months later Wendy and I had coffee where she surprised me with this beautiful gift. My simple email impacted her so much that she had an artist friend hand draw my email and got it framed! In fact, she made two: one for me and one for her.

Wow. I was speechless. Overwhelmed. Filled with gratitude that my words had such an impact on her that she would gift me with such a treasure.
When you are mindful about your messages, they will have a far bigger impact than you could imagine. Take those extra seconds to have your recipient not only read your email, but FEEL it.
