Yesterday I was on a serious roll, making sales calls, cranking out engaging emails, writing compelling content, and generally kicking booty at work. I was rocking it like a hurricane, creating all kinds of wonderful connections and opportunities. And then, it all came crashing down.
I allowed a nincompoop to block my jam.
(It's not worth discussing the nuances of the "incident". We all know people who just don't know how to be a grown-up.)
After wallowing in my own stew of righteous agitation for well over an hour, I decided that I was no longer cool with the aforementioned nincompoop to steal my day. So I unplugged from the machines, got some fresh air, and took a vigorous walk around a beautiful lake nearby. The sunshine melted away my stress, replacing it with great new ideas on how I can channel my energy into something valuable and lucrative. I returned refreshed, restored, and rarin' to go.
What steps do you take to de-funkify yourself? How can you reclaim your day when things don't go your way? Don't let anyone rob you of the day (or the life) you want to create. It's YOURS, not theirs.
